How do I access the DLS-140 Web Interface?
Before you start
- Power on and wait. The status LED shows green briefly, may show red for up to 2 seconds, then turns steady blue. Steady blue means the unit is starting up or ready. Allow at least 3 minutes after power-on before connecting. If the LED stays red, the unit has a boot error. Contact Customer Support.
- Know the Wi-Fi details. On current firmware (03.xx), the DLS-140 Wi-Fi network name starts with DLS-140- (for example, DLS-140-50140) and the default password is skytrac!. The network name and password are also printed on the manufacturer label on the top of the unit. Units still on earlier firmware broadcast a network named Skylink-… and use the unique password printed on their label. If your organisation has changed the Wi-Fi name or password, use those instead.
- Check the aircraft switch. If the aircraft has a switch that turns off DLS-140 Wi-Fi and cellular, make sure it is on.
Step 1: Connect to the DLS-140
Over Wi-Fi (easiest, and works with the unit installed)
- On your device, open the list of available Wi-Fi networks and select the network that starts with DLS-140- (or Skylink- on earlier firmware).
- Enter the Wi-Fi password: skytrac! on current firmware, or the password on the label for units on earlier firmware.
- If Windows asks what type of network this is, select Private.
The DLS-140 broadcasts on 2.4 GHz only (802.11g), so your device must support 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. After the network appears, wait about another minute before connecting. Connecting too early can give an error.
Over Ethernet
- You need the CAB0397 DLS-140 Ethernet Maintenance Cable. If you don't have one, its drawing is in Appendix A of the DLS-140 Installation Manual.
- Connect DLS-P1 to the DLS-140 pigtail jack (DLS-140 side).
- Connect ISAT-J1 to the pigtail plug (ISAT-200A side).
- Connect LAPTOP-P2 to your laptop's Ethernet port with a CAT5/CAT5e cable. You may need a USB Ethernet adapter.
- Set the laptop's network adapter to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP). The DLS-140 assigns the laptop an address. A static IP address will not work.
Step 2: Open the web interface
Open any up-to-date web browser. Type 192.168.111.1 into the address bar (not a search box) and press Enter.
Step 3: Log in
Enter the following on the login page:
- Username: skytrac
- Password: skytrac
After you log in, the Dashboard opens. The tabs are Dashboard, Network, Configuration and Diagnostics, and the firmware version is shown under System Info.
Units on earlier firmware (00.02.xx): The page is titled SkyLink Device Interface. Click Login in the top right corner, then use username admin and password admin.
If you can't reach the web interface
No DLS-140 Wi-Fi network appears
- Check that the LED is steady blue and that you've waited at least 3 minutes.
- Check that the aircraft Wi-Fi switch, if fitted, is on.
- Hold your device right next to the DLS-140. If there's a problem with the aircraft's Wi-Fi antenna or its cabling, the unit may still put out a weak signal close by.
- If the unit has been updated from earlier firmware (00.02.xx) to 03.xx, the network name changes from "Skylink-…" to "DLS-140-…" and the password becomes skytrac!, so neither will match the label any more.
You're connected, but the page won't load
- Wait a few more minutes, then refresh the page.
- Check the address: 192.168.111.1
- Make sure you're connected to the right unit. DLS-140s share the same default Wi-Fi password, so if several aircraft are powered on nearby, check that the network name matches your unit.
- Rule out your laptop. A company VPN, firewall or security software can block local device pages. Disconnect the VPN, or try another laptop, tablet or phone.
The login is rejected
- Type the username and password in lowercase.
- Don't mix up the two passwords. The Wi-Fi password is skytrac! (with an exclamation mark). The web interface password is skytrac (without one).
- If the page says SkyLink, the unit is on earlier firmware. Use admin / admin.
- If your organisation has changed the password, check with whoever manages your fleet's configuration.
