# How do I add a new user to SkyWeb?

Adding a user to SkyWeb involves three stages: creating the account, assigning the roles that determine what the user is able to do, and confirming which aircraft they are able to see. An account created without roles or resources will sign in successfully but display nothing, so all three stages are required.

## Before you begin

Only the Program Manager is able to add accounts.

If you are not sure who holds that role within your organisation, please email [support@skytrac.ca](mailto:support@skytrac.ca) and we will confirm who is registered. If they are unavailable, email us with them in copy and we will action the request.

## Stage 1: Create the account

1. [Log in to SkyWeb](https://skyweb.skytrac.ca/Login.aspx?security=ssl) and navigate to **Account Management**, then **Program Management**.
2. Click **Options** at the foot of the **SkyWeb Accounts** section and select **Add Account**.
3. Complete the account details, including a valid email address. Select the resource group the user belongs to. Where a group already exists covering the aircraft they require, select it here. Where no specific group is needed, select the default group.
4. Click **Save**.

The new login name will then appear in the SkyWeb Accounts list.

## Stage 2: Assign roles

Roles determine what the user is permitted to do. With the new account selected, click **Edit** at the foot of the **Roles** section to enable the checkboxes, select the roles required, and save.

Please note that only one section may be edited at a time. Changes must be saved or cancelled before another section can be opened for editing.

## Stage 3: Confirm which aircraft they can see

Only the resources selected in the **Resources** section are visible to the account. If you assigned the correct group at Stage 1, no further action is required here.

To amend the selection, click **Edit** beneath the Resources box, select the aircraft or group required, and save. To create a new group, click **Options** in the Resources section, select **Create Group**, enter a group name and select the units to include. The group will then be available from the Group Name drop-down, including when creating future accounts.

What the main roles provide access to

More than one role may be assigned to an account.

**Flight Following** is available as Full or Basic. Basic Access does not include SkyMail, previous flight information, or the Flight Bar logs.

**Historical Data** is selected separately alongside Flight Following. Without it, the Historical option on the Load Data screen remains greyed out. With it, a user may load up to 30 days at a time.

**Administration** is available as Full or Basic. Basic covers geofences, georeferences, DVI text messages and phone numbers, overdue notifications and flight following settings.

**Hardware Management** has three levels. Full Access permits activation and configuration, Limit Custom Configuration is read-only other than assigning profiles, and AFF Only reaches the first and last steps.

**Reports** provides access to usage reports, billing information, flight logs, position logs and violation reports.

Weather, aeronautical charts, terrain and obstacle data, NOTAMs, mobile access and duty hours are chargeable additions. Please contact your sales representative for pricing.

## Further assistance

If a new user is able to sign in but cannot see any aircraft, please check the Resources section first, as this is the most common cause. For anything further, please contact our support team at [support@skytrac.ca](mailto:support@skytrac.ca).
