# How do I adjust the call volume on my ISAT using CDP or DVI?

The volume controls only work while a call is in progress. How you reach them depends on what is fitted in your cockpit.

### If you have a CDP, on its own or combined with a DVI

The audio controls appear on screen automatically when the call connects:

- **Mic** mutes and unmutes the microphone.
- **Volume** is the main call volume, 1 to 10.
- **S-Tone** is the sidetone volume, 1 to 6.
- **Xfer** transfers the call to a POTS or DPL handset, where one is configured. ISAT-200A only.

Use the left and right arrow keys to select the setting you want, then the up and down arrows to adjust it. The setting you have selected is shown with vertical bars around it.

On a combined CDP/DVI you can also type the value straight in on the DVI number keys, rather than stepping up and down with the arrows.

### If you have a DVI on its own

The DVI has no display, so the controls are key sequences. Press the **\*** key first, then the digit.

| Turn the call volume up | \* then 6 |
| --- | --- |
| Turn the call volume down | \* then # |
| Mute and unmute the microphone | \* then 5 |
| Increase the sidetone | \* then 4 |
| Reduce the sidetone | \* then 0 |

Call volume has ten levels and sidetone has six. If more than 60 seconds passes between the two key presses, the DVI clears the entry and you will need to start again.

**Allow time for the change to take effect.** It can take up to 30 seconds for the volume to adjust, although it is usually around five.

### Ringer volume

Ringer volume is a separate setting with ten levels, and it is adjusted while you are **not** on a call.

On a CDP it is under **System \> System Setup \> Audio Setup**, along with the choice of ringtone. On a DVI, use the same keys as the call volume.

Settings that are not changed from the control head

**Mic DC bias** and **Mic input level** are set during installation and are not normally changed afterwards.

**Mic Volume** is changed on the ISAT itself rather than on the CDP or DVI.

If the other side cannot hear you, or the audio is one-way, these are usually the settings involved. Please contact our support team rather than changing them.
