# How do I change an aircraft's icon, colour and track colour in TrooTrax?

Display settings are changed from the Admin tab. You need to be an administrator, or a user with the appropriate permissions.

### Change one aircraft

1. Select **Admin \> Assets** from the main menu, locate the aircraft and select **Edit**.
2. Open the **Display Options** section.
3. Select the **Symbol type** paperclip icon and choose the icon. The name is shown in the Symbol type field.
4. Select the paint can icon and choose the colour the icon will be on the map.
5. Select the size from the **Symbol size** drop-down list. A smaller number gives a smaller icon.
6. Select the make and model from the **Vehicle Model** drop-down lists.
7. Select the track colour paint can icon to set the colour of the trip lines on the map, then select the **Track size**.
8. Select **Save**.

**Important:** The icon affects more than appearance. Each icon has rules attached, and the icon assigned to an asset affects the state that is reported, so an aircraft should always be given an aircraft icon. Vehicle models must already exist before they appear in the Vehicle Model list.

Changing several aircraft at once

The Display Config screen works in the same way, but applies one set of display settings to a filtered list of assets.

1. Select **Admin \> Assets \> Display Config** from the main menu.
2. Enable or disable the Display Config options as required. All are enabled by default.
3. Set the symbol type, symbol colour, symbol size, track colour and track size as above.
4. Filter for the aircraft you want to change using the **Group Filter**, **Category Filter** and **Conditional Filter**.
5. Select the aircraft from the filtered list. At least one must be selected.
6. Select **Save**.
