# How do I control which aircraft and data a user can see in WebSentinel?

User permissions are managed in MyLatitude. They determine which aircraft a user can see, the period of tracking data they may view, and whether they can exchange messages with an aircraft.

### Open the user's details

1. In WebSentinel, select the application dropdown in the top toolbar and choose Admin to open MyLatitude.
2. Select the Account tab, then the Users page.
3. Select the user from the list to open their details page.

All permission changes are applied automatically.

### Set the permissions

- **Tracking History.** Set this to Active, then select the date range the user is permitted to view. Select Earliest or Latest for an open start or end date, or select Date to specify one. All dates are in UTC.
- **Text Messaging.** Set this to Active to allow the user to send messages to an aircraft and view messages received from it.
- **Aircraft Visibility.** Select each aircraft the user is permitted to access. The user can only view tracking data and messages for the aircraft selected here.

If your organisation holds a licence for Latitude Flight Data Analytics, that permission can also be enabled here.

If a user has an aircraft selected but is still unable to access it, confirm that Tracking History is set to Active and that the date range is correct. Setting the To date to Latest, or to a future date, gives the user access to live tracking. A date in the past restricts them to historic data up to that date.
