# How do I identify which Sky Connect tracker I have?

The serial number on the tracker label is the quickest way to identify your tracker. Begin with the serial number, as its format identifies the tracker family.

If you are unable to physically inspect the tracker, the serial number for each unit on your account is shown in Asset Manager under **Asset Management \> Deployed Assets**, in the **SerNum** column.

## First, check the serial number on the tracker label

**Starts with T3A (for example, T3A1234):** the unit is a Tracker 3A.

**Starts with T3 or T4, without an A (for example, T3XXXX or T4XXXX):** the unit is a Tracker 3.

**A six-digit number:** the unit is part of the Tracker II family. Use the identifiers below to confirm whether it is a Forte or a Fleet.

Check for T3A first, as Tracker 3A serial numbers also begin with T3.

## Next, check the additional identifiers on the unit

If the serial number cannot be read, or to confirm the model, check the front of the unit first, then the side.

**The unit has a display on the front**

The unit is a Tracker 3 or Tracker 3A. Count the antenna connectors to tell them apart:

- **Three antenna connectors** (two Iridium and one cellular): Tracker 3A
- **Two antenna connectors:** Tracker 3

The Tracker 3A adds a built-in cellular modem for sending flight data, attitude and barometric altitude sensors, push-to-talk over Iridium and multi-constellation GNSS.

**The unit has no front display, with a row of LEDs along the side**

The unit is a Tracker II "Forte." This is a POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) phone system with optional tracking, and works with standard corded and cordless telephones.

**The unit has no front display and no LEDs on the side**

The unit is a Tracker II "Fleet." This is primarily a tracking system. Depending on the model, it may or may not feature voice calling.

## Still not able to identify your tracker?

Email [support@skytrac.ca](mailto:support@skytrac.ca) or call [+1 (250) 765-2393](tel:+12507652393) with the following:

- Unit serial number, if it can be read
- A photo of the tracker label
- A photo of the front of the unit and one side, showing any display or LEDs
- A photo of the configuration module (ICSM) label, if one is installed
- Aircraft registration

Most of these details will be available from the checks above.
