The SDL-350 is SKYTRAC's broadband satellite data link, built around the Iridium Certus network. A single unit carries satellite data, satellite voice, push to talk and cellular connectivity, and shares them with the equipment and devices on board. **Satellite data** The SDL-350 connects your aircraft to the internet anywhere in the world through Iridium Certus, at up to 704 kbps download and 352 kbps upload. Devices reach it over the cabin Ethernet ports or over the unit's own Wi-Fi hotspot, so tablets, electronic flight bags and cabin systems can stay connected in flight. **Satellite voice and push to talk** Crews can make and receive satellite telephone calls, and talk to other Iridium push to talk users on a shared talkgroup, wherever they are operating. An MTC-100 cockpit display is required to place and receive satellite calls, and is also how crews choose which talkgroup they are on. **Cellular and Wi-Fi** Closer to the ground, the SDL-350 uses LTE cellular where a network is in range, and can join an airport or hangar Wi-Fi network so that onboard systems can move data before the aircraft does. The unit switches between these automatically and always prefers the least expensive connection available, so you are only using satellite airtime when nothing else will do. Cellular carries data only, and telephone calls always go over satellite. **Flight following** Throughout the flight, the SDL-350 reports its position and flight events to SkyWeb or TrooTrax CORE, with nothing for the crew to do. > These services are subscribed to individually, so your aircraft may have some of them and not others. If you are not sure what is active on yours, or you would like to add something, send us your serial number and we will confirm. You will find the serial number on the Status page of the unit's web interface, along with the firmware version and modification status. It is worth having all three to hand whenever you contact us, as they tell us a great deal about your installation.
