How do I change an aircraft's icon in SkyWeb?

The aircraft icon shown on the SkyWeb map is set per unit under Hardware Management. This is the icon your flight followers see, so choosing one that matches the airframe makes a mixed fleet easier to read at a glance.

Before you start

This is done in Hardware Management, which requires the Hardware Management: Full Access role. Your SkyWeb Program Manager holds this by default.

If Hardware Management appears greyed out for you, your account does not have the role. Contact your Program Manager, who can either make the change for you or grant you the access.

Changing the icon

  1. Log in to SkyWeb and go to Hardware Management.
  2. Click Hardware Configuration.
  3. Search for the unit and select it.
  4. In the left-hand sidebar, click Aircraft Info.
  5. Choose the icon you want from the Aircraft Icon Type drop-down, then click Submit.

The list covers several helicopter sizes, a range of fixed wing types, and ground assets including vehicles, ambulance and rescue boat.

Further assistance

If the change does not appear on the map, please contact our support team at support@skytrac.ca, quoting the aircraft registration and the unit serial number.
