How do I connect an IONode to a SkyNode?

The IONode connects to a SkyNode over a serial link. That link lets the IONode send event messages out over the satellite path, lets us reconfigure the IONode remotely, and can supply GPS data to the IONode.

There are two options. Use RS-232 Port C on the IONode to receive GPS data from the SkyNode, or fit a GPS RF splitter so that each device computes its own solution.

Worked interconnect examples are available for paired installations across several airframe types, covering both rotorcraft and fixed wing. Please contact our support team for the example closest to your airframe before designing the interconnect, and tell us which SkyNode is fitted.
