How to setup DZMx Takeoff/Landing Event
Method 1 — Using aircraft speed (simplest, best for fixed-wing):
- Go to DZMx Connect > Settings > Triggered
- Set a speed just below the aircraft's take-off speed, and a speed just below the aircraft's landing speed
⚠️ Note: For helicopters, speed-based triggering is not ideal — it can cause false take-off/landing reports when hovering.
Method 2 — Using a switch input (recommended for helicopters):
- Wire a collective switch or a squat/weight-on-wheels switch (also called "wheels on ground") to one of the DZMx Plus General Purpose Inputs (GPIs)
- Configure it via the Controller: Settings > Inputs → select the Takeoff Switch function → set Input Designation to the wired input
- The Input Type field lets you specify whether it's a Collective Switch or a Squat Switch (weight on wheels)
