What is the Sky Connect Tracker II?
An introduction to the Tracker II Family of single channel Iridium tracking and voice transceivers.
The Tracker II (Tracker 2) is a family of single channel Iridium satellite transceivers, collectively called the Tracker 2 Family. Each system consists of a remote mounted transceiver, an L band antenna, and a dialing, audio, or data interface such as a Mission Management Unit (MMU) or SOP dialer. The transceiver contains the Iridium L Band Transceiver (LBT), which acts as both the phone and the modem, giving the aircraft position tracking, event reporting, two way text messaging, and satellite voice calling. A 12 channel internal GPS is optional, the system can also use a position feed from most panel mounted GPS units, and voice configurations support switched data at up to 10 Kbps with compression.
